Evaluations
Our supplemental evaluations provide an opportunity for players to showcase their skills and be considered for our competitive teams. Due to limited spots available for all our teams following our primary evaluations in July, we are holding supplemental evaluations instead of traditional tryouts. This evaluation is designed to assess player abilities beyond our regular evaluation process.

WHY MINNESOTA LAKERS LACROSSE?
27 weeks Of High-Level Training: Throughout our 2024 Fall - 2025 Summer Season, our Premier, Select 17U, and Select 14U players receive high-level training through a meticulously constructed curriculum. We will build on each player's skills weekly, preparing them to thrive in their high school seasons as impact players, along with being leaders on and off the field. We teach players not to focus on results strictly but instead on trusting the process with consistent and constant improvement, creating a passion for improvement and lacrosse!
Comprehensive Player Development: Every player receives personalized individual feedback throughout the season and after tournaments. Continuous development opportunities outside of practice to ensure each player reaches their full potential and maximizes reps. Engaging in weekly reflections, beginning, middle, and end-of-season assessments for Fall Ball, Winter Skills, and Summer Season, and pre and post-tournament assessments, with an eye on achieving player's upcoming 2025 MSHSL/MSLax Spring Season as well as the 2025 Summer Club Season goals. Encouraging our athletes to reflect on their performance at each practice, identify opportunities for growth, and take charge of their development.
Recruiting Assistance with What's Best for the Student-Athlete, Not Our Program: To us, it doesn't matter what level our players play at the collegiate level. It can be NCAA Division 1, NCAA Division 2, NCAA Division 3, NAIA, or club. Players should pick a school that is the right fit for them, not what makes our program look good. A school where they can truly see themselves if lacrosse wasn't an option no matter what or if they should stop playing lacrosse. We help players and parents throughout the recruiting process as they navigate a stressful and overwhelming time.
Expert Coaching: Our coaches are dedicated to fostering an environment of growth and excellence, both on and off the field.
Community and Character Building: We emphasize the importance of character and leadership, ensuring our players excel as athletes and individuals.
Chaperoned Tournaments: We understand the financial impact of club sports and the travel associated with them. To help reduce the cost of travel, all tournaments we attend outside the Midwest are fully chaperoned. From departure at MSP until our arrival back at MSP, players are chaperoned by Minnesota Lakers Directors, Coaches, Staff, and parents. Parents aren't required to travel with their athletes, though they are more than welcome to if they would like.
Optional Off-Season Tournaments: We love our multi-sport athletes, and with that, we know not all players can commit to fall and winter tournaments. We don't want players having to choose between school sports and a club team off-season tournament or parents having to pay for something their athlete cannot attend. All our off-season (Fall & Winter) are optional add-ons for families to select. They can do all of them, a few of them, one, or not participate in any. It's what works for the athlete and their family.
Communications: We communicate weekly during the season and monthly during the MSHSL/Association season, as well as pre-tournament, to ensure a smooth running event for our players and their families. Teams have their own Heja, our new communication app for the 2024 Fall - 2025 Summer Season, thread for player and parent communications with coaches, as well as a calendar with practice times and locations, tournament game times and field locations, and leadership training events.
